The Foster Club Foundation
Dogs in foster care are 14 times more likely to get adopted than those stuck in a shelter.
Even 1–2 days out of the shelter can lower stress, improve behavior, and boost adoptability.*
The Foster Club Foundation is the nonprofit arm of Brooklyn Foster Club and a registered 501c3 organization. Our mission is simple: get more dogs out of shelters and into foster homes—especially right here in New York City. We believe fostering should be accessible, supported, and local. That’s why we focus on encouraging people to foster dogs directly from city shelters and New York-based rescues.
Fostering doesn’t require a big home, fancy gear, or loads of experience. It just takes a willingness to open your home temporarily to a dog who needs a break from the shelter. And when you do? It literally saves a life.
What we do…
Educate
We create and curate digital resources to help every foster parent—from first-timers to seasoned pros—feel confident caring for their foster dog.
Care
We actively foster dogs ourselves, especially long-stay dogs who are often overlooked, and use our platform to promote them.
Connect
We highlight foster opportunities from NYC-based shelters and rescues—not just transport operations—so more local dogs get a chance.
Amplify
We use our voice to spotlight urgent shelter cases, long-stay dogs, and local rescue efforts that need more visibility.
Advocate
We speak up for NYC’s public shelter system and promote the critical role of local fosters in saving lives.
Equip
We create starter kits packed with supplies and resources to make fostering less intimidating—especially for first-timers.

Donations to the Foster Club Foundation go directly toward supporting local foster efforts. We use funds to purchase supplies for foster starter kits and donate the rest to NYC-area shelters and rescues doing lifesaving work.
